Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities was founded in 1958, is one of the colleges under the administration of Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The University is located in Baise, a city 230 kilometers west of Nanning, the capital of Guangxi. The railway line from Nanning to Kunming, an highway and Youjiang River makes Baise very accessible. It enrolled more than 7,000 students selected from 12 ethnic groups such as Zhuang, Yao, Miao and Han, etc. The university is composed of the Campus itself and 3 affiliated hospitals with more than 2,000 sick beds and advanced equipments. Besides, more than 50 teaching hospitals in different areas in Guangxi, Yunnan and Guizhou offer good facilities to students.

The number of teaching personnel stands at 541, of which 192 are Professors and Associate Professors and 252 are Lecturers.
